Sometimes I need my Sunday rest on Saturday morning. You?


Today the Bible app verse of the day is Malachi 3:10. I was just going to post the verse on instagram and facebook to encourage all of us to trust in His promises.  But instead God blew open my heart and filled it.  So I'm sharing because I had the time for some extra soul filling today, as well as time to share the nourishment.  So this is straight up from my journal, and I'm going to hit send before I think too hard:

We tithe, give to You Lord, because You help us want to give, and You promise to meet our every need...  Never worry, didn't know God would take me to that place with this verse.  The worry place... where I need to go. Thank You Lord. This is my prayer this morning.

Lord Jesus, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner. Please hear my cry. I am sorry for a jealous, insecure, fearful heart. Not only should we tithe freely, which by your grace comes easy to me, BUT I should give my heart away freely, which is scary to me. I've come to You in the past over this and You gave me victory.

Here I am again asking for your perfect love to fill me and overflow. Wash away my selfish needs of affirmation and faithless self-condemnation. All of my sins are rooted in unbelief of Your greatest command, "love the Lord Your God with all your heart soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself." If I don't fully believe and receive Your love for me today, I can't give it away.

Distractions (the enemy) rob, kill and destroy the blessings of time in Your Word - SOMETIMES! BUT, OFTEN they drive me back to my knees and let me find security in You alone! Thank You that You are all I need and because of that I can give it all away. Help me to give all of me away, first to You, and also to others. Forgive me for holding back. Thank You for the truth, help me walk in it today Lord. For You alone are my righteousness - I DELIGHT IN YOU! In Jesus Name I pray, amen.

I had no intention of posting today. God took me on a short journey of truth and I share because maybe one of you wants to give your heart away freely today. Only God and His Word will truly set us free.

 Almost forgot the most important verse today!! 1 John 3:1 says, "See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are."

So I said in my last post that "I can't see the trees." Does your bag have a hole in it? That can be a good thing! Get free of baggage!!

Miles in the bag? Yeah, that's good!  But it does not define me!  Measurements!  They can be so conflicting!  It is good to have goals, to move forward, to make progress, but to what end?  If you are like me, the bag that holds your miles has a big hole in it!  There's never enough!  By the grace of God, I've been on a life long journey learning that running with a hole in your bag can be a good thing!   Now I picture a wind sock instead of a bag.  Let those miles fall out the bottom!  Try that one on!   A banner trailing me that is empty .  My hope is that the empty banner  I carry is filled with the full wind of God!   If you struggle with measurements you can find peace here today.
