I Feel
We can FEEL a lot of different things all within a short span of time. They can often be conflicting feelings. Feelings are real. Feelings are valid. Feelings come from a variety of circumstances. Feelings can tear us down or build us up. But feelings do not have to have the power to define us or anyone else! That is why putting on the "glasses of truth" is so important in sorting out our feelings!
FREEDOM
We need the Word of God in our hearts as the measure of truth. So when conflicting thoughts rise up and battle for the win, we have assurance of the true win. We can never be perfect, we can never earn our worth. Our worth is Jesus. We get to wear His righteous robes. Isaiah 61:10 says, "I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness." Jesus won for us! This gives us freedom to feel, freedom to let go, freedom to rest when things don't make sense...
"...we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever... Hebrews 6:18-20
Feelings:
- I sometimes feel like a vessel of truth to others
- I sometimes feel like a total failure
- Sometimes these two previous statements war against each other in my mind
- The truth is I can share truth on my worst days, because it is about Jesus' perfection, its never about me
- I pray for my life to be rich in truth so this truth can be rich for others
- I sometimes feel on the total brink of the pit
- I sometimes feel like I "fit in"
- I sometimes feel like I don't "fit in"
- I know the reality - "it doesn't matter"
- I know the reality - love with total "self-abandonment"
- I often feel so fueled by God's Word! I love to speak it out to myself and to others!
- Right now, I sense the need to speak it out loud, speak truth over my life
- I feel sorry I’m not always who the others need me to be
- I feel eager to pray for and encourage others, desiring to be a light that reflects Him and only Him John 1:5
- I feel like I'm a weak person when fibromyalgia kicks in
- Today I am motivated to stop "thinking" and just relax and know that I am God’s child! "See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!" 1 John 3:1
- Sometimes I must stop my racing brain. Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God;"
- Sometimes I feel I have nothing to give. And when I feel that I am reminded of this: "In Him we live and move and have our being." Acts 17:28
- I am choosing to walk the path of victory today
Yeah, all that can happen at once! So when you feel the war inside, remember truth!
TRUTH:
Ephesians chapter 1 I am blessed, loved, chosen, accepted, adopted, redeemed, forgiven
TRUTH:
"to
You I call, O Lord my Rock; I believe
You will not turn a deaf ear to me. For
if You remained silent, I would be like those who stay in the pit. Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for
help (Psalm 28:1-2)
"There is no one like You, my God, who
rides on the heavens to help me and on the clouds in Your majesty. You Eternal God, are my refuge and underneath
me are you everlasting arms." (Deuteronomy 33:26-27)
"God, You arm me with strength and make
my way perfect. You can make my feet
like the feet of a deer; You can enable
me to stand on the heights. You train my
hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow
of bronze. you give me Your shield of
victory; You stoop down to lift me
up. You broaden the path beneath me, so
that my ankles do not turn. (2 Sam 22:33-37)
Maybe this is for you today... REST.
love,
Julie
